Hunts AC had one of the quieter weeks of the summer so far with the Southern Women’s League match at St Ives the highlight.
13 year old newcomer Jessica Stirley sailed over four metres in the long jump to go third in the Senior club rankings for 2010, while her effort set up Gemma Duma nicely to snatch the B string win by two centimetres.
Sue Cahill emerged as one of the stand-outs by improving her own club Veteran’s record in the hammer throw by over two metres, while her javelin attempt was just over a metre from the veteran’s record.
On the track, after running her best time of the season in the 800m, Sammie Skinner later strode out to a very comfortable five second victory in the B string 400m, reducing her season’s best by four seconds.
