Steve Curtis has received a special call-up to represent Great Britain at the UIM Formula Future World and Continental Youth Powerboating Championships.
The Huntingdon youngster will join eight other young racers in Team GB battling against juniors from all over the world in the prestigious competition at Lancashire Powerboat Racing Club in St Helens, Merseyside, next weekend.
Curtis, 13, will have the chance to show off his skills in slalom, manoeuvring and knot tying in an attempt to claim an individual title as well as the team championship. He will be racing in Class Four for 14 to 15 year olds.
Curtis, who started powerboating at the age of seven, won the Honda RYA Youth RIB Championship in 2008 and 2009.
