Smith is popular as Stanground’s guest

GYMNASTICS superstar Louis Smith was the very special guest of honour at Stanground College’s Sports Awards last week.

Olympic hero, Smith, had been invited to attend the event to present awards before speaking at length to pupils about his life as a top class gymnast.

Director of Sport Wendy Gooding said: “It was great for students to hear directly from a local sportsman with so much commitment and drive to achieve his dreams. Louis is a fabulous role model for our students and a great ambassador for both sport and Peterborough.
