Local Sports Clubs and Organisations have recently received a boost as they have been granted additional funding to help support the development of the club and sport within the local area.
All-Rounders Hayden Bream and James Wiltshire collected £635 for Sawtry Cricket Club which will be used to buy a boundary rope – something they hope will help stop all the arguments. The club currently does not have a boundary rope and relies on white markings on a field that also hosts football matches, which can cause some confusion when teams are disputing a four!
There was also money for Eaton Socon Sports Association (£750), Huntingdon and District Riding for the Disabled Association (£1,000), Somersham Town Football Club (£990), Little Paxton Colts (£500) and Stukeley Meadows Youth Football Club (£745).
