OUNDLE routed the opposition in the Midlands Twenty/20 Finals day to move within one match of the National Finals which will be televised live on Sky.
A brilliant ton from Andy Reynoldson sped Oundle, who were representing Northants, to a nine-wicket success over Notts champions Cuckney in the final at Spondon, Derbyshire on Sunday 22nd August .
Schoolboy Harry Ramsden’s 5-20 had earlier set up a seven-wicket win over Leicestershire champions Leicester Ivanhoe in the semi-final.
Cuckney set Oundle a stiff 20-over target of 154, but Bedfordshire Minor Counties player Reynoldson bashed seven sixes and seven fours in his 70-ball knock of 102 not out.
Captain Cameron Wake made 50 from just 33 balls before falling just as victory was in sight. Wake struck six fours and one six and his side clinched victory with 16 balls to spare.
Reynoldson also bowled his slow left-armers beautifully to return figures of 4-19. Richard Cunningham took 3-33 and Ramsden chipped in with 2-23.
It was even quicker in the semi-final as Oundle dismissed Ivanhoe for just 93. Left-arm spinner Ramsden was in awesome form and well supported by Reynoldson who took 2-7.
Oundle lost early wickets, but still eased home in just under 12 overs. Michael Outar (25no) and Mark Hodgson (24no) saw Oundle over the finishing line after Ramsden had made 21.
The win was even more commendable as Oundle were forced to play without South African star Martin Van Der Merwe as only players eligible to play for England can turn out at this stage of the competition.
The National Finals take place at the Rose Bowl, Hampshire in September and are televised live by Sky.
