Over £50k distributed to support youth sport

LIVING SPORT has secured and distributed over £50,000 to organisations across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough to help create new sporting opportunities for young people.

The funding has been distributed to 39 different organisations, including sports clubs, schools, youth clubs and sport centres. All of the organisations will be delivering an 8 week long project in the coming autumn term (September – December) with one session taking place each week.

There are a wide range of sports that have been supported through Sport Unlimited funding, including your traditional sports of football, rugby union and cricket through to more non-traditional sports such as archery, roller hockey and judo.

Ross Hayward, Sport Unlimited Project Coordinator said, ‘It has been great that we have been able to engage with and support so many organisations through the Sport Unlimited project. I am really pleased to see so many new opportunities for young people right across the county.

Sport Unlimited can help create new sporting opportunities for young people aged between 5 and 19, with funding to support numerous different aspects associated to delivering an activity. Funding can be secured to support coaching fee, equipment costs, facility hire or transport.
