Former England and Great Britain star Nick Thompson will be officially unveiled as Cambridge City’s new player-coach at their Club Day tomorrow.
The Olympian – the former coach at The Leys School, Cambridge – has arrived at Wilberforce Road to help the men’s first team, who won the NE14 East Men’s League, Premier B last season, achieve National League status.
City’s women’s first team are already plying their trade in the England Hockey League and Thompson believes the club can go from strength to strength.
Everybody is welcome to attend the Club Day when there will be the chance to try your hand at hockey, watch the club’s players in action and enjoy a host of other activities.
For more information and to sponsor the club, call Rich Wainwright on 01223 911540 or 07971 572588 or visit www.cambridgecityhc.org
