Giles Scott wins Bronze in San Francisco

Giles Scott clinched his best world championship finish by taking the bronze medal at the Finn Gold Cup in San Francisco.

The 23-year-old Huntingdon sailor took the final place on the rostrum as Skandia Team GBR team-mate Ed Wright won the competition.

Wright had a winning margin of 32 points in the 10-boat medal race, with Spaniard Rafael Trujillo separating the two British competitors.

It keeps up the battle for the sole British Finn berth at the London Olympics, with Ben Ainslie the other rival for the spot.

And Scott's medal makes up for last year, when he finished in fourth place.
