World-class gymnasts such as Daniel Keatings and Louis Smith have tasted international glory as members of the club. And many are following in their footsteps such as Sam Oldham, who won gold in the horizontal bar at the Youth Olympics, besides Emma White, Tori Simpson and Lottie McKenna who have all been called up for the Commonwealth Games in October.
But their success is all the more remarkable as Aaron Mason reports when you consider they have to train in overcrowded premises with young children who like to chuck little balls at Louis Smith while he practices on the rings.
However, by having the country’s biggest gymnastics talents training in one place, it could be a very good thing ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Could the Huntingdon Olympic possibly be the right way forward?
