Louis Smith had an ideal warm-up for the 2010 Artistic Gymnastic World Championships by winning a silver medal at the Ghent World Cup.
The 21-year-old Huntingdon Gymnastics Club member had a higher difficulty level for his pommel horse routine, and scored 15.050 points.
But Chinese national all-around champion Guo Weiyang had a cleaner execution as he took the gold medal with a score of 15.100.
It is a busy month for Huntingdon’s gymnasts, with a training camp at Lilleshall, followed by the Commonwealth Games in Delhi for some and the World Championships in Holland after that for others.
