Cambridge University post-graduate student Stacie Powell holds the National Women's 10m synchronised diving record and 10m platform. She has just been named in the England Diving squad for the Commonwealth Games.
The British Olympic Association contacted the Kelsey Kerridge sports centre in Queen Anne Terrace, Cambridge earlier this year and asked if they would give a complimentary gym membership to the high flier. Stacie will be using the gym to train toward selection for the Olympic Games in 2012.
The 25-year-old, who is studying for a PhD in astrophysics, has competed in many international events including the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne where she came fourth in the 10m synchronised diving and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, finishing eighth in 10m synchronised diving and tenth in the 10m platform.
