A Gymnastics Leadership Academy (GLA) embraces youth involvement and brings together young volunteers (aged 14-19) from an educational, club and community setting to develop their own skills whilst volunteering within gymnastics.
The young leaders elect their own committee and determine the direction of the academy. During this time the leaders also identify specific training courses that they would like to attend for their own professional development. The leaders are also provided with the opportunity to volunteer at local, regional and national events.
