Kathryn Ryan surprised everyone when she won a bronze medal at the Taekwondo World Championships in Telford.
Ryan, 7, came third in the junior sparring competition and the Cottenham youngster was understandably delighted by her unexpected success.
She first took up the sport two years ago when she joined the BL Tae Kwon Do School which holds regular training sessions at Cottenham Village College.
Ryan won a silver medal in sparring at the London Area Championships in July and, at North Midlands competition in Derby, she won gold and silver medals in individual sparring.
