Heartbroken Marissa King has been forced to pull out of the Commonwealth Games through injury.
The Huntingdon Olympic Gymnast has partially torn a pectoral muscle in training and will be ruled out for at least a month.
Father Cliff said his daughter, a former Impington Village College pupil who is now on a scholarship with the University of Florida, was distraught at having to withdraw from the England squad for the trip to Delhi.
The Games are due to start on Sunday and Huntingdon coach Paul Hall will spearhead the England party which includes Luke Folwell.
Five other club members will be representing some of the other home nations – Emma Whote and Tori Simpson (Scotland), Charlotte McKenna and Luke Carson (Northern Ireland), and Alex Hedges (Isle of Man).
