People Powered: Fresh Perspectives in Volunteering
Are you involved in an organisation that relies on volunteers? Are you looking for new ways to recruit, support, celebrate and reward them? Whether you work for a national charity, help out at a local club, sit on a parish council or just want to work with others improve your neighbourhood, the People Powered conference is for you.
The event takes place on Thursday 19 April, 10am until 2pm at St Ives Corn Exchange, and is open to anyone who is involved in recruiting and managing volunteers. Guest speakers from a wide range of charitable organisations will be on hand to discuss how they respond to the challenges of finding and recruiting people, and how to define volunteering roles that fit in with people’s busy lives. The conference will cover the steps an organisation can take to ensure that volunteers – and the organisation – are protected from risks. It will also explore the best ways to show volunteers that they’re appreciated and celebrate their achievements.
People Powered is funded by Huntingdonshire District Council and co-hosted by Living Sport and Hunts Forum.
