Peterborough 10K Club Challenge

PETERBOROUGH SPORTS CLUB CHALLENGE AT #PB10K, Sunday 8thJuly 2018. 9.30am at Nene Park. Peterborough. PE2 5UU

Living Sport are delighted to announce a Sports Club competition as part of the Peterborough 10K

  • All Sports Clubs from across the city are invited to enter teams of 5 runners.
  • Enter in the normal fashion by the link above but making sure that you include your team name (and identifying team 1, 2 etc if more than one team from a particular club)
  • You can have a squad of more than 5 runners but it’s the first four across the line that count

The winning team will get a #PB10K Cup donated by CHROMA SPORT & TROPHIES.

If we have more than 12 teams entered we will provide a further prize of a set of football shirts for the winning team (or equivalent value kit for non-football clubs) supplied through CHROMA.

This competition is not intended for Athletics or Road Running Clubs who already have an extensive competitive programme locally.  Separate of this challenge we will though have 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes for men and women and 1st age group prizes for over 40, 50, 60.  And the fact that we have a competitive element should not discourage entries from all types of runners, including those undertaking a 10k as a step up from Parkrun; undertaking their first 10k as a challenge; or those happy to just enjoy the distance around the beautiful Nene Park, probably keeping our Chief Executive company going at his own (slow) pace!

This new 10K race takes in a loop around the lakes, through woodland, and alongside the river and across the meadows.  The course has been officially measured and UKA Race Licence granted with an Event Adjudicator appointed.

Along with the scenery all runners will benefit from:

  • Chip Timing
  • Runners T-shirt
  • Finisher Medal
  • Refreshments
  • Free photos to download
  • All proceeds from the race go towards the work Living Sport do to improve the health and well being of people in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire through participation in sport and physical activity

What better way to spend a Sunday morning, come and join us! Supported by great marshals and what a lovely venue for spectators too.  The run starts in Ferry Meadows close to the Lakeside Centre with a route around the lakes, into Ham Mere, the woodland walk to the Ferry Bridge, and you are almost home heading for a finish on Coney Meadow.
