If you’re ready improve your health and wellbeing by having more activity in your working day. Just follow these simple steps…
Step 1:
Contact LIVING SPORT to find out the physical activity programmes and initiatives in your area.
Look through the LIVING SPORT Active Workplaces Directories for ideas and links to organisations that can support you further in running your own physical activity challenges: Events and Challenges; Local Service Providers; Walking, Running and Cycling; LIVING SPORT.
Step 2:
Order a "Think fit!" resource manual from the British Heart Foundation Health at Work website
This is a very useful resource manual which will give you all the information you need to get your workforce active. BHF orderline number: 0870 600 6566 or click here to go to their website.
Step 3:
Ensure you have 'buy' in from senior management, especially HR and Occupational Health departments; and also consider input from the Finance and the Health Safety departments/officers.
Step 4:
Appoint a workplace "champion". Their role will be to co-ordinate activities and motivate staff to get involved.
Step 5:
Do some background research. Before you decide what activities to offer to your staff we recommend you complete the questionnaires below in the resources section, to help you find out what provision is available already and most importantly, ask your staff what they would like to do!
