Physical Activity Projects:
Dancing for Fun provides dance and movement classes for adults (50+) within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Classes are in sheltered housing and community facilities with an emphasis on enjoyment, meeting new people and getting the body moving, in a sociable and relaxed atmosphere.
The Get Back Into (GBI) programme provides local, relaxed and non-competitive sessions that will enable adult participants (16yrs+) to ease back into a sport or activity that perhaps they once took part in or introduce them to a brand new sport they have always wanted to try.
The Sportivate programme is part of the Play strand of Sport England’s mass participation legacy programme ‘Places, People, Play’. Sportivate is a 4 year programme that will be delivered from 1st April 2011 – 31st March 2015.
The overall aim of the programme is to get 300,000 participants aged 14-25 years to complete weekly coaching sessions over the 4 years, with two in five (120,000) to carry on playing sport regularly.
Sport Makers is a programme that aims to recruit, train and deploy 40,000 people aged 16 and over to organise and lead community sporting activities across the UK.
