The Get Back Into (GBI) programme provides local, relaxed and non-competitive sessions that will enable adult participants (16yrs+) to get back into a sport or activity that perhaps they once took part in or introduce them to a brand new sport they have always wanted to try.
Each course will run for 6-10 weeks and will be led by experienced and appropriately qualified coaches. The courses will be charged at nominal rates providing exceptional value for money.
The programme has been running successfully – led by Team Beds & Luton and Active Norfolk - in the East of England for the last 2 years, and has seen thousands of people becoming more active again.
Clubs have been delighted by the increase in membership created as a result of a successful project, facilities are pleased by the project’s ability to fill ‘dead’ time, and local coaches and instructors are delighted with the additional work made available to them.
The secret to the success of the GBI project is that it fills a real gap in the market for people who like sport and physical activity, and exercising as part of a group or team, but do not feel confident enough or want to commit themselves to join in with their local club or class.
