This summer, National Citizen Service (NCS) is being delivered by LIVING SPORT as one of the partners in the Young Lives Consortium. The consortium was selected as one of the national NCS delivery partners and we are delighted to have a number of places available for 16 year olds.
NCS is a 4 week programme running throughout the summer, for young people in Year 11; during which they will learn new skills, challenge themselves, work as part of a team and have the opportunity to give back to their local community. The programme consists of 2, five day residentials, after which participants will choose a local issue or cause to help, developing and delivering their own social action project.
The programme will be fun and exciting whilst challenging young people, supporting them in developing life-long skills and making new friends. In addition, it is a great way to boost their CV or UCAS personal statement as it will provide evidence of personal and social development in a structured environment.
This is an amazing opportunity for young people and the good news is it is FREE, as it is partly government funded.
You can find out more about NCS by contacting Claire Thorby, Projects Manager at LIVING SPORT or looking at the NCS website www.direct.gov.uk/nationalcitizenservice
