Active Workplaces

Active Workplaces was the LIVING SPORT programme which aimed to help Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Workplaces improve the health of their workforce through sport and physical activity, by providing support, guidance, and quality signposting to deliverers of services.

The Programme ran from April 2008 to December 2011 and was delivered by LIVING SPORT working in partnership with local service providers. Funding for the project was received from Sport England, the Department of Health, Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council.

The project had a Project Coordinator that deployed Casual Sports Instructors and worked with a range of partners including local authorities, Sports, NHS Trusts and providers of physical activity to help businesses develop their health and wellbeing programmes.

Active Workplaces worked with businesses, to help them access and provide sport and physical activities for their employees, helping make a positive change towards a healthier lifestyle.
