School Games 2012

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Level 3 School Games competition will be taking place over five separate days in 2012.

March 2012 will see the Tag Rugby and Gymnastics competitions being held on Tuesday 20th at St Neots Rugby Club and Tuesday 27th at Jack Hunt School in Peterborough respectively.

May 2012 will see the Panathlon Challenge being held on Wednesday 30th May at Chesterton Community College.

The School Games PLUS, formerly the Youth Games PLUS and is in its seventh year (the first as part of the School Games), is being held on Friday 15th June at the One Leisure St Ives Outdoor Center.

The final competitive event is the 11 sport School Games festival day on Tuesday 10th July 2012 being held across a variety of locations. A list of locations and the sports being hosted there are as follows:

  • Burgess Hall, St Ives: Indoor Rowing
  • Huntingdon Tennis Club: Tennis
  • Lakeside Lodge Golf Club: Golf
  • One Leisure St Ives Indoor: Basketball
  • One Leisure St Ives Outdoor: Athletics, Cricket, Disability Football, Hockey, Netball and Rounders
  • St Neots Table Tennis Club: Table Tennis

The opening ceremony will take place from 10am at the One Leisure St Ives Outdoor Centre, including a performance from the Striking for Gold percussion group and the Beat Offensive dance troupe. All sports will close with a medal ceremony followed by the English National Anthem.
