‘Places People Play’ is a £135m initiative that will bring the inspiration and magic of a home Olympic Games and Paralympic Games into the heart of local communities
It is being delivered by Sport England in partnership with the British Olympic Association, the British Paralympic Association and with the support of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games.
The aim of the project is to deliver a mass participation sporting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. To achieve that, Sport England will invest in sports facilities all around the country to make sure communities make the most out of the London 2012 Games; inspire people to make sport happen at a local level with Sports Makers; and create sporting opportunities and challenges that give everyone an opportunity to be part of the mass participation legacy.
