Introducing Power 2 Inspire’s Super Sensory 1km event that you can run, walk, push or be pushed. The event; the first of its kind in the East, is supported by the Friends of Histon and Impington Recreation Ground. Everyone is welcome on Bank Holiday Monday 7th May at Histon and Impington Recreation Ground. It is open to all; disabled and non disabled participants, young, old, runners, walkers so is ideal to involve all of the family, parents, siblings and carers. Along the 1km route there will be sensory stations approx every 150m for participants to delight their senses; touch, taste, view, hear and smell! Participants can walk, run, push or be pushed, so it’sideal for people in a wheelchair as well as those with learning disabilities, autism or people with dementia. We particularly welcome carers, parents, siblings and friends to join in the FUN!
The event is part of the larger Impington Festival of Running which is an annual event organised by the Friends of the Rec. Online Registration is encouraged so that they can gauge interest and know about any additional needs that participants may have. The entry fee is £3 per person, with proceeds going to Power 2 Inspire to then deliver additional inclusive community sport events in your area.
