RaceRunning Introduced in Cambridge

Participants on race runners with coaches

A RaceRunning start session was held in Cambridge on Wednesday 10thOctober. The session was organised between CP Sport, Living Sport and Cambridge and Coleridge Athletics Club. A total of 10 participants attended the session, with people from the local area and also some people who travelled up from Essex.

Experienced coach Phil Fleetwood was on hand to support the CP Sport Athletics Development Officer Richard Kerr with getting people set up and going on the RaceRunners. For the majority of those who took part, this was their first experience of RaceRunning and they really enjoyed taking part.

Feedback from the session has been really positive

“ It was fun to try something new and the coaches were really friendly and encouraging”

“Good first session”

“Thank you so much I never experienced running before and it was special to be able to do it for the first time ever”

Cambridge and Coleridge Athletics Club are interested in working with Cerebral Palsy Sport to develop local opportunities moving forward and it was good having some of their coaches present to see RaceRunning and encouraging that they are keen to support us. Keep a look out for details of a regular session coming soon.
