Following the success of the Dalrod sponsored SportsAid lunch in September with Olympic Gold medal winning hockey player Hannah MacLeod, Peterborough SportsAid is delighted to announce that the speaker for their next lunch is Para-triathlete Lauren Steadman.
The next lunch will be on Friday 25th November 2016 from 12.30pm – 3.00pm at the Holiday Inn West Peterborough.
Lauren, who was born in the city, competed in the Beijing and London Paralympic Games in Swimming before switching to Para-triathlon for Rio where she secured a Silver Medal in the PT4 category. She is a double World Champion and a four time European Champion. Away from competing, she is studying for her Masters in Business after gaining her degree in Psychology at Portsmouth University.
Lauren is another local athlete to have benefitted directly from grants from Peterborough SportsAid – the monies raised through these fundraising lunches.

Cambridge SportsAid are delighted to welcome English Netball player, Pamela Asibie Cookey to their next lunch on Friday 9th December at the Cambridge United Football Club from 12.30pm
Pamela was still at school when she was first selected for the senior national team and became England’s netball captain. She has played with TeamBath in the Netball Superleague since the competition’s inception in 2005, winning two titles in 2005–06 and 2008–09. She also played in the Australasian ANZ Championship in 2009, signing with New Zealand franchise the Northern Mystics. Pam was announced as a Surrey Storm player joining ahead of the 2015 Super League season.
In 2004 she made her senior debut with England against Australia, and two years later won a bronze medal with the England team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. She also played in the Australasian ANZ Championship in 2009, signing with New Zealand franchise the Northern Mystics. Pamela won a second Commonwealth Games bronze medal in 2010, and later that year won silver at the World Netball Series.
