Successful Peterborough 10K at Nene Park

A amazing 448 runners took on the current heat wave to take part in the inaugural Peterborough 10K organised by RaceBest/Even Splits on behalf of Living Sport on Sunday 8th July 2018.

The race took place around the beautiful Nene Park – around the lakes, across the meadows alongside the Nene Valley railway and then the river and into the woods and this certainly proved to be an attractive feature of the event with feedback so far including:

“really good location and beautiful surroundings, the tree cover gave a good shaded canopy cover during a very hot run, good breaks between patches of warm and cool really helped my performance””

“it was a brilliant route and would definitely do again”

The number of unaffiliated runners was another key feature with only 121 of the 500 registered runners coming from affiliated clubs and from one of the many first timers there was the feedback “Excellent arrangements and lovely experience and this was my first 10K and I didn’t feel lost”

Commenting on the event Simon Morris, Living Sport Chairperson said:

“Under considerable heat you and everyone involved produced a very well organised, friendly event. It is great credit to you and the team that the numbers of runners were registered and all those I spoke to afterwards had enjoyed the day  and felt the course was excellent”.

Pictures from the race are available at Digital Sports Media and are also to be posted on the Living Sport facebook page Living Sport
