Activity Alliance: New report shows more to do to reduce disabled people’s inactivity

Four in five disabled people want to be more active but demand is not being met. Only two in five feel they are given the opportunity to be as active as they would like to be. Worryingly, this level of inequality is resulting in a more negative experience, including social isolation for many disabled people. The findings come from a ground-breaking report released by Activity Alliance today, involving more than 2000 respondents.

Activity Alliance releases updated inclusive communications resource

Activity Alliance is adding to its bank of resources with a series of new factsheets that support providers to be more accessible and inclusive in their communications. Written in partnership with Big Voice Communications and Sport England, each factsheet is bursting with bitesize tips and better practice guidance. Inspire Peterborough smashes Sport England targets

Following on from record breaking numbers taking part in Walks on Wednesdays, Inclusive Sport, Special Olympics, Sporting Saturday, it can now be revealed that Inspire Peterborough has helped 3,276 people (target 1,799) people register with programme to become more active. These people have taken part in an activity 28,435 times (target 19,120).Read More
