Wheelchair Rugby Comes to Cambridgeshire for the first time!

4 wheelchair rugby players

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) brings Wheelchair Rugby to Cambridgeshire. We were treated to a friendly match at Littleport Leisure Centre between Northampton Saints and Norfolk Knights to introduce Wheelchair Rugby to the county. It was a game loaded with full-contact, hard hits, speed and physical determination, making it a thrilling watch. This is a great opportunity for the people of Cambridgeshire to experience as it is one of the few Paralympic sports not currently played in the county.

Following this showcase, local people of Cambridgeshire will have their opportunity to get in a chair and give the game a try. Anyone with a physical impairment is welcome to come along to the four FREE taster sessions on Wednesday evenings 5-7pm from the 12th of June. Non wheelchair users are welcome. The aim following the taster sessions is to set up Cambridgeshire first Wheelchair Rugby Club.
