Heard of Club Matters? Want to develop and grow your club? Need support to gain more members or volunteers?
Club Matters is Sport England’s one stop guide for community sports clubs to access, to help develop and sustain clubs for the future. Club Matters provides free online resources which provide practical approaches for clubs to improve.
The club improvement tool enables clubs to identify their strengths and opportunities to improve. This interactive tool will enable clubs to choose statements that best answer their situation and from this exercise, a club improvement plan will be generated with a list of online resources for them to access.
There are a wealth of free online resources covering four main topic areas : club finance, club management, club people and club marketing. This is in the form of templates, toolkits and interactive guidance.
Club Finance covers areas such as budgeting, fundraising, generating income and tax and sports clubs. The Club Management module outlines areas such as Community Amateur Sports Clubs, Club structures, facilities and policies and procedures.
Club People is around Volunteers, coaches, members and inclusivity. Finally the fourth area of Club Marketing covers market research, marketing strategy, the importance of social media and sponsorship.
Living Sport is also pleased to announce a series of planned workshops across the county for local community clubs to access. These two hour workshops are led by experienced facilitators who aim to develop skills and improve knowledge of those involved with running community clubs. Ideally more than one person from each club will attend as this helps to share the learning and enables for procedures to be implemented back in the club environment.
Workshops costs are £10 per person per workshop. You can attend any workshop that suits the area of interest for you. The following workshops are coming up over 2019:
28 February – Club Structures – Hampton Library and Leisure Centre, Peterborough, 6.30-8.30pm
