Case Studies – Community Sports Coaching

Coaches are critical to the successful development of players and included here are some fantastic examples of the work of coaches across a range of sports across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.  Read about the impact they have made locally,  the reward they have felt from being involved in community sports coaching and how they’ve changed lives. SQUASH  FOR WOMEN –  England Squash identified women’s participation as a priority for them.  Find out how Living Sport worked with the Cambridgeshire Squash Rackets Association to  fund coaching bursaries and plan a low cost project that would appeal to those who do not currently play the sport. ACTIVE FENLAND  – The aim of this project was to get more people active in Fenland after extensive research.  Living Sport, working in partnership with 6 identified NGBs, successfully set up this project and delivered to many participants – find out more here –  Active Fenland Case Study

K J RUNNING BUDDIES – KJ Running Buddies is a new female only running club in St Neots, encouraging and supporting ladies to improve their fitness and wellbeing through running, group motivation and friendship.  Find out how we help them set up their club here – KJRunningBuddies CS

RUGBY – Rugby Union was identified as a priority sport by Living Sport last year. The RFU wished to develop participation opportunities for 11-25s in line with the RFU’s Whole Sport Plan within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.  Find out how we supported the RFU in delivery of participation

INVESTMENT IN COACHES AT VARIOUS SATELLITE SPORTS CLUBS – Clubs were telling us that they wanted to get involved in creating Satellite Clubs but having the workforce capacity for initial delivery and sustainability was an issue. TABLE TENNIS – Table Tennis England approached Living Sport to support them locally to understand their club development needs, and to provide them with local insight into Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The project has gathered momentum and is now a great example of a successful partnership between a commercial provider and CSP.
