Living Sport are working in partnership with StreetGames to provide a series of free Activator training for local community organisations working with families, children and young people.

The courses provide Community Sports and Youth Workers with the skills to introduce new sport and physical activity to the groups they work with, and provide activities to interact with young people and understand motivations. 

Dance Activator Workshop

The workshop will provides ideas and concepts for basic dance moves and fun ways to introduce dance to young people in their local community.

Workshop includes:

  • An overview of the basic dance movements needed to participate
  • Explore the basic elements of Street Dance, Cheerleading and JusJhoom
  • How to deliver basic dance activities to groups of young people and understand adaptations and developments that can be made to activities

After the course learner will be able to introduce dance activities for young people in a community setting or 'Doorstep' sport club within the activity, leadership and supervision guidelines of their host organisation.

Who is it for: Community Sport Project Leaders, Coaches and Volunteers. Learners must be 16 years or over and operate in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area.

Course prerequisites: There are no compulsory pre-requisites for this workshop. It offers the chance to build on skills previously gained through courses such as the Sports Leaders UK Level 1, 2 and 3 Awards; National Governing Bodies of sports awards; and Youth and Community qualifications.
