Resources for Health Professionals

Being active is really important for your health and wellbeing; so why are 1 in 5 of us in Cambridgeshire not physically active? Let's Get Moving Cambridgeshire supports the least active people to be more active.

Let's Get Moving Cambridgeshire has helped over 6,000 people access physical activity opportunities

The Let's Get Moving Cambridgeshire programme has identified many issues affecting people being active in our county;

  • Cambridgeshire has many opportunities to take part in sport or physical activity; Sometimes it can be difficult to find out what is available locally though. Therefore Let’s Get Moving Cambridgeshire is identifying and sharing opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity.
  • In some places there are not the opportunities that are needed for some individuals to participate in activity and the programme is responding to need by developing these activities with the communities.
  • For some people being more active isn’t just a matter of choice. They may need support with accessibility, social support, goal setting or even just a chat about what being active looks like and means to them. Through this programme you can sign up for support from one of the local coordinators and they will help individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations.

This programme has been funded by Cambridgeshire County Council Health Committee, working in partnership with the five District Councils across Cambridgeshire (Cambridge City Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, Huntingdonshire District Council, Fenland District Council and East Cambridgeshire District Council) and Living Sport (the Active Partnership for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough).

For more information on the Let’s Get Moving Cambridgeshire programme please visit the website.

If you would like to sign up for support you can go directly to the join in page.

Please feel free to get in touch with the LGMC project manager, Michael Firek by email or call.
