Milton Primary School children do The Daily Mile at home to support Jimmy’s Night Shelter

Before the schools closed a few weeks ago Freddie Drew (age 9) and his friends from Milton CE Primary School Running Club in Milton, Cambridge, had been planning to raise money to support the homeless charity Jimmy’s Cambridge, but sadly due to the current situation their planned event was no longer possible.

However, because our homeless community needed our support more than ever now, Freddie and his friends decided to run 1 Mile every day for 5 days, from Mon 6 April – Fri 10 April to raise funds for Jimmy’s in Cambridge.

The challenge was then set to all children in the school and lots of pupils, their families and school staff got involved. The event has raised £830 so far with donations still coming in.

Rebecca Hawes (PE Coordinator) says: ‘An amazing achievement and a fun way to stay active doing The Daily Mile!’
