Why are we undertaking this challenge?

Joe Wicks was a national hero through lockdown – keeping people active and spirits up. He helped people feel connected at a time when so many of us felt lost.

And we are privileged to work with hundreds of #LocalJoes.  People who run walking groups, yoga teachers, football clubs, charities who provide classes for older people, and so many more. Day to day they are an essential part of keeping people connected, active and well.

Throughout lockdown they continued to help wherever they could – offering free online classes, delivering workout plans and equipment to people who don’t have the internet, and fundraising for their local communities.

As lockdown is lifted our #LocalJoes will adapt again. And they’ve never been more essential. The pandemic has had a massive impact on the mental and physical health of local people.

The funds we raise through this challenge will help us provide advice, support and funding to help our #LocalJoes adapt and reconnect with those most in need, when they need it most.

What is the challenge?

Throughout August, the Living Sport team will be putting themselves through their paces to raise funds to support our #LocalJoes.

Each of us will have a unique challenge, that will push us beyond our normal levels of activity. Follow us on social to see what we're up to and our progress!

What will the funds we raise be used for?

Living Sport is raising funds to support the incredible work our #LocalJoes do in keeping local people connected, active and well - reaching more people who could benefit from physical activity, in line with our charitable objectives.

You can donate to support our #LocalJoes through Crowdfunder, here

We would be very grateful for your support and we'd love to hear about your #LocalJoes too!
