Opportunities initially within Hockey

We are looking for enthusiastic Walking Sports Activators initially for Walking Hockey, but there may be future opportunities in Rugby, Basketball and Cricket. Activators will have the passion to work within local communities across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough delivering a variety of daytime, evening, and weekend sessions. Activators will be required to promote, plan, and deliver walking sport sessions, engage with participants, and mentor volunteers in the community to ensure sustainability.

This is part of a programme of work Living Sport is leading to create more walking sport sessions across the county. We are looking to start the next stage of delivery early in 2021, subject to COVID-19 restrictions.

Activators will ideally have experience delivering sport and physical activity opportunities and/or walking sport activities to older people, have attended a Coaching Older People workshop, and a background of knowledge delivering sessions.

Activators must hold an accredited walking sport activator certificate (where appropriate), safeguarding and first aid certificates and have a valid UK Driving license, or be able to travel around the county including to rural locations.

We are looking for people with good time-management skills, who are disciplined and organised, have a flexible approach to working hours and can think quickly on their feet and adapt to whatever the session requires.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who has a real passion for sport delivery, with potential scope to grow the work that is available.

If you believe you are an ideal candidate, please send your completed application form to [email protected] by 29th January 2021.
