Coaching HQ tries to include principles from the Physical Literacy Framework into our sessions. We believe that by enabling children to become ‘physically literate’ it will increase the chance of continued participation in physical activity throughout their lives.
Physical Literacy aims to provide children with the motivation, confidence, knowledge and understanding to create the foundation that will allow them to develop into competent, confident and healthy movers. This is done by creating the opportunity to allow students to participate in a wide range of age and stage appropriate activities. These sessions would look to include ‘games making’ to allow children to become more innovative and to help encourage independent learning. This will help students work towards gaining an understanding of how their body moves and works during physical activity, and why we implement such things as warm ups into our sporting activities. Health and wellbeing doesn’t just include physical health but, mental health as well. Being both physically and mentally healthy means that children will be able to achieve greater self esteem in other aspects of their lives, this includes a positive impact in their school work. Many studies have been highlighting the benefits that physical activity can have on concentration levels in the classroom.
