Satellite Clubs It’s changed my behaviour at school for the better, and I’m more respectful and confident to do the right thing. Working with young people? You can access funding through Satellite Clubs to set up new physical activity sessions that are fun and free for teenagers to attend. Our 2020-21 Satellite Clubs programme works with local sport and physical activity clubs that are designed around the needs of young people and provides them with positive, enjoyable experiences, making it easier for them to become and remain physically active. The programme delivery is aimed at young people aged 14-19 years. Sessions should consist of a regular opportunity (weekly or fortnightly) to take place over a minimum of 30 weeks. We welcome applications from sports and physical activity clubs and youth organisations. The sessions must link with Living Sport strategic objectives: Young people with a disability/long term health condition BAME Young people (Black and Minority Ethnic) Disadvantaged communities (low socio economic) LGBT community Young people with mental health conditions Supporting the development of opportunities in new growth communities Identified areas of need Steps to apply (dates for next funding round - to be confirmed) Applicant to complete an Expression of Interest form Applicant contacted by Satellite Club coordinator with decision on EOI Applicant to attend mandatory ‘Satellite Club workshop’ Required documents provided by applicant and funding granted Additional Living Sport Grants Targeting Young People · Workforce Bursary – Maximum £500 per club For existing Satellite Clubs who would like to develop more club leaders, coaches or volunteers. · Marketing Bursary – Maximum £250 per club For any community club working with young people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough who would like to test alternative marketing methods to engage inactive 14-19 year olds to increase their club participation.
