Well done, you have done 21 Daily Miles and made it to Check Point 3.

We want you to have fun and stay safe so please ensure you are following the latest guidance issued by the government when taking part.

Oh wow – we are now at the height of the aeroplanes! Can you make a paper aeroplane and fly it across the playground?

Notes: get them to make their aeroplanes and then take them out to do their Daily Mile with them. You can add the element of colouring their planes, talk about the benefits of something being streamline or the science behind making the most efficient paper aeroplane.  Check out this link if you need some ideas for plane making BBC guide to paper air plane

Here is a video and challenge from Mindfit for All (if you need to adapt the activity to take part safely please do) - see check point 1 for more information about Mindfit.

Information about Healthy Schools Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (participating schools are receiving a teaching resource from Healthy Schools as part of this challenge - half at the start and the rest when they reach the end)

The Healthy Schools website provides updates on new programme initiatives, information on local training offers and events, useful weblinks as well as a host of resources and lesson plans to support teaching on an array of health and safety topics. They also have a Parents Hub.  Visit the website here www.healthyschoolscp.org.uk

A large number of organisations across both Cambridgeshire and Peterborough that comprise the Healthy Schools network are working in collaboration to provide programme offers that can assist schools in embedding a robust health and wellbeing agenda, which in turn will facilitate the long term recovery from the effects of the pandemic.

The resilience teaching pack participating schools are receiving (targeted at Years 5-7) has been produced through the partnership with the national charity Bounce Forward to assist the teaching of resilience skills which are vital to young people as they progress through school and life. https://bounceforward.com/ This material is being showcased, for free, through The Daily Mile Spring Challenge.

There is also the opportunity for the school to take a quick online health check. This should take no longer than 15 minutes and provides the benefit of a self-assessment with sign posting to the next steps to take to help comply with the requirements of the new Health Education curriculum.
